On December 19th, in the early morning hours, our lives were changed forever...our Dad/Opa had tragically passed away. One moment he was here...and then in the next, he was with his Jesus. It's been a little over 2 weeks, and we still can't believe he is not with us anymore. Though the days, weeks, and months ahead will be very difficult, we know that our God will be with us through it all. He will never leave us or forsake us. We cling to the promise that "God is our refuge and strength...an ever present help in time of need." (Psalm 46:1)
Dad/Opa ~ We love you so much, we miss you terribly, and we look forward to seeing you in Heaven one day. Averie has already said that she plans on finding you in Heaven to sit on your lap and make sure you take your medicine! She will probably call you "Tom" since she did that a few times while we lived with you & Mom, and you will let her as you smile really big at her mischevious personality. (We are so very thankful for the awesome 4 months that we lived with you & Mom...) We miss your big hearty grin, the way your eyes would always sweat (you were really crying, we know!) at moments in our lives, and the way that you showed love in your actions. You were constantly giving, and you were always telling us to live like the Bible tells us to live. You were a hard worker and a great friend to many. Thank you for being a great father and a wonderful Opa. You will always hold a very special place in our hearts...and we will always thank God for the wonderful years He did give us with you.
Until we meet again in Heaven one day...
