happy birthday to mommy

Happy Birthday to our Mommy.  We love her so much, and we are so thankful for her.

On Mommy's birthday evening, Daddy took her out...all the details were a surprise for Mommy, and she loved that.  They went shopping together (she got to pick out a purse, a shirt, & a clip for her bracelet) and then headed over to Mommy's favorite restaurant, Melting Pot.  (We got to celebrate with Mommy after school.  We loved giving her headphones & 3 charms for her Pandora bracelet...one from each of us!  Of course, her favorite gifts were our cards and lots of hugs that we gave her!)
Here they are at dinner (taken with Daddy's phone, so it's bright)...enjoying the yummy food & sharing great conversation.  Daddy made Mommy feel very loved and very appreciated on her birthday!  What a great day for Mommy!

1st day of 4 year old preschool

Time for this cutie (me) to start preschool again.  This year, I am in the 4 year old class, and I'll go Monday-Thursday!  I am looking forward to learning new stuff and playing with my friends.

All ready to go...
...ready for preschool!
I'm growing up fast...
...but, Daddy & Mommy love me very much!
Sweet boy
A quick pic at preschool...
...and I find my name and am ready to start my first day!

a broken thumb

Well, within 30 minutes of Daddy & Mommy getting back from their weekend getaway (pictures in next entry), I decided that I would close my thumb in the pantry door.  The door latched close...with my thumb still in it.  I screamed in pain, but after a while, I was able to let Mommy look at my thumb.  Purple & swollen...and bleeding!  But, I acted fine after a while, so we seemed to not worry.  The next day, the swelling hadn't gone down and I was still in some pain.  So, Mommy had our next door neighbor, who is an ER doctor, take a look at it.  He told us that he thought it was broken and we should see an orthopedic doctor for x-rays and such.  So, off we went...and after a few x-rays, it was confirmed that my thumb was broken.  Though the pain is mostly gone, I got this pretty cool splint that I hate wearing...and hopefully, it'll heal quickly!

I'm still all smiles, though!!

surprise

For a surprise for Mommy, Daddy took her for a weekend getaway...just the 2 of them.  On the agenda...relaxing at the Grove Park Inn, sleeping in, & attending a Chris Tomlin concert at the Biltmore House.  Mommy has wanted to go to a Chris Tomlin concert for a few years, so what a treat!  They both LOVED the weekend together...and LOVED the concert!

Daddy & Mommy...ready for some Chris Tomlin!  According to Daddy & Mommy, it sure was an awesome concert, especially as they were all singing praises to our God as the sun was setting.
And, Daddy & Mommy enjoying an architectural tour of the Biltmore House.  Here they are...on the 4th floor outside of the house.  Last time they were at the Biltmore House together was when Mommy was in college.  It was a such a fun time back!
What a wonderful weekend they had together.  We missed them, but we loved our time with Miss Brittany & Oma, and we are so thankful that Daddy & Mommy are so happily married.

1st dentist visit

I (Brady) went to the dentist for the first time recently.  Mommy is a "little" nervous about going to the dentist, so it always takes her a little while longer than should be to take us to the dentist. But, I did great.  I talked and talked, enjoyed picking out my bubble gum toothpaste, and loved picking a few toys from the treat box.
Maybe one day...I'll be a dentist.  I'm almost ready! :)

name

A few weeks ago...I did it...I finally wrote my name...with all the letters...for the first time! :)
(Okay, so the "y" looks a little like an "x," but it's close!)

19 months old

Sweet Brecken Thomas...19 months old now...loving life...very happy...loves to cook & take baths...loves fruit and yogurt...our blue eyed sweetness...our gift from God!
Blessings...comfy at home!

just having fun

Some fun, random pics of us...just having fun!

Just having some fun outside...with a big smile to go with it!
Brecken insisted on wearing a helmet like I (Brady) was, so he picked up Averie's helmet.  It wasn't too big, and he rode around with it on.  Safety first!
We're ready for a stroll in the neighborhood!
If we aren't outside playing, then we are inside cooking!  We both love to cook...and go to Big Fire!
Making Mommy a delicious meal!
Brecken hanging out with his big sister!
My baby brother and me!
Playing with Mr. Potato Head
And another day of cooking for Brecken!!
Busy, busy little chef!
Asking Mommy if she wants to try it...
...and then give a cute smile as Mommy says "yummy!"
Averie and her lego masterpiece!
And...me...sporting a few different themes at the same time...a carpenter, with a beach shovel, pretending that I'm spiderman!
Could I be any cuter?
Watch out...Spiderman & Hulk are in the house!
Averie...busy teaching and reading to all her "students."
Having lots of fun at home!
