fall fun at the pumpkin patch

In mid-October, we headed to Midland, NC (about 40 minutes away), to go to a pumpkin patch. We had the best time. We got to pick pumpkins, play on the playground, explore farm equipment, take a wagon ride, and pet farm animals. It was a really warm day, but it was filled with lots of fun.

Here am I (Brady) sitting on a pumpkin...
...and of course, my sister, too!
And, Daddy with his "Little Girl"
And, I got to give this really big cow a kiss...

After our wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, Daddy & Averie went looking really far for the perfect pumpkins...
I stayed back with Mommy while we picked our pumpkins nearby!
Me with my pumpkin...
It was heavy, but I could hold it!
Averie with her perfect pumpkin also!
What a super fun time at the pumpkin patch. We sure enjoyed having our pumpkins out on our front porch for our fall decorations!

tweetsie railroad

For the first weekend in October, we went with Daddy, Mommy, Poppy, Nana, Uncle Blair, Aunt Blip Blip, and McKinly to the mountains. That Friday, we spent the day at Tweetsie Railroad, and we had SO much fun...trains, rides, food, guns, and more.

Here I am with "Sissy"...saddled up on horses!
I liked this little horse...perfect for my size!
And, a perfect horse for Averie!
One of the first things we did was take a train ride around Tweetsie Railroad. We loved seeing all the horses and all the noises the train made...but we didn't like the "gunshots." Here are Mommy & Averie...ready to take a train ride!

Happy Me to be riding on the train. I said "choo choo" a lot that day!
After the train ride, we got to ride lots of other rides. Here are Daddy & Averie...on Averie's first ferris wheel ride...I even rode it for the first time with Mommy, too...but we didn't get a picture of that!
Daddy & Averie also rode this tilt-a whirl ride, which ended up making Daddy sick for a bit!
But, Averie rode it at least 5 more times...sometimes alone...and other times with Poppy and Nana...
...and other times with Nana and cousin, McKinly. (I decided to eat goldfish during this ride...this one didn't look like fun to me!)
We also got to drive Daddy & Mommy in these cars. Averie took Daddy for a spin in the red car, and she is almost ready to be 16! I took Mommy for a spin in the blue car, but I need a few more lessons before I can be licensed driver...I kept bumping all the walls! :)
Me & Averie...in our super cute Metrolina jackets! (Thanks, Oma!)
I loved these cardboard stands where I put my head through...I smiled through each hole!
While we were there, "Sissy" wanted to get her face painted. She was so brave! She picked out a butterfly...
...and it turned out so cute!
Sweet Averie with her painted butterfly!
We enjoyed spending a lot of time riding rides...here I am with McKinly on this boat ride. We both loved ringing these really loud bells!
Averie enjoyed it, too!
But, Averie really liked the bigger rides more...she is on the scrambler with Nana...
...and then with Daddy. They all loved it!
By this time, it was almost 4:00, I haven't had my nap, and Mommy is trying to take a picture of "Sissy" and me. Well, this is what she got...smiles from Averie and me almost falling off the wagon in exhaustion. Good thing I got a second wind soon after this! :)
Averie on the chair lift ride from one section of Tweetsie Railroad to another!
Daddy & me on the ferris wheel...my second time riding it that day. After this ride is when my second wind began...of course, the skittles that Daddy bought me helped with that, too!
After another hour of rides and walking around, we finished our day at Tweetsie with a quick stop in the gift shop. Averie came out like this...hat, bandana, vest, gun, & holster. She is ready to be a cowgirl!!
And, I came out like this...hat, gun, & holster!
I love this gun...it goes "pow pow" at lots of things!
Daddy & Mommy's adorable kiddies...
Before we left, we all sat in Poppy & Nana's laps, but we had a hard time focusing on smiling when we'd rather be shooting our guns!
But, we did manage to get one of us without the guns in our faces!
Last time on the horse!
Daddy told Averie to hold her gun in the air...
...and then it was my turn. I think Daddy has seen too many western movies! :)
My last time on the horse, too!
Right after we pulled out of the parking lot, I fell fast asleep...and yes, with my gun on my shoulder. I had such a fun day...
...and so did Averie. What a great family day at Tweetsie Railroad!

jumpin' in the rain puddles

We have long awaited for the super hot summer days to begin to cool off so that we can enjoy being outside again. What better way to "cool off" than by jumping in rain puddles that 2 days of rain brought us? So, we headed to Target, bought our first pair of rain boots, and spent the late afternoon jumpin' in the rain puddles. We had a blast!

Me & "Sissy"...ready to jump!
...easing my way in to my first puddle...
...and starting to make some splashes...
Then, I thought it would be fun to play in the water, too!
But, jumpin' in the puddles was more fun, so I started jumpin' again...
Then, Averie came to join me...
...we made some big splashes...and had some big laughs together!
Having some water fun!

"Sissy" liked making splashes, too...
...she made really big ones...even while I was watching the water go down the drain!
Then, we held hands and jumped together!
I also watched Averie make big splashes!
My Big "Sissy"
and me...a "big brother" come early February! So, for now, I am still the baby!
And, before we headed inside, we took the last few minutes to run puddle to puddle...laughing...and running again. It was so much fun!
Just my "Sissy" and me
