Opa's first birthday in Heaven...

This past Friday, February 12, would have been our Opa's 64th birthday. How we really wish we could have celebrated with him here. But, we will have to celebrate again once we all get to Heaven. It was a tough day...but we filled the day with many talks about the great memories we made with Opa and we watched a video montage of pictures throughout Opa's life. (Of course, I understand that Opa is in Heaven, but Brady continues to ask for him every day.) We sure had lots of great times with him. And, while he can't be here with us now, we will always thank God for the wonderful years He did give us with Opa.

We love you, Opa, and we talk about you every day. Daddy & Mommy pray that we will always remember you and the amazing man that you were! Thank you for loving us in your own special way...and thank you for so many wonderful memories. I will always remember you letting me sit on your lap all the time, wear your glasses, feed you food, take rides with you on your scooter, and even call you "Tom" for a few days. I also will remember the way you read books to me in a loud voice (which always made me laugh so hard), eating all your yummy steak, making you laugh at my silly personality, and watching you take your medicine. Brady loved sitting on your lap, getting any food he wanted from you, giving you the tv remote, and riding on the golf cart. There are so many more memories, and we know your legacy will live on. We miss you, Opa, and we love you so very much! We are so proud to call you "Opa."

Pictured above is our last birthday celebration together. It is my 4th birthday (November 16, 2009). Pictured below is our last picture taken together of Brady & me with our Opa. It was in April 2009...Easter Sunday!

"God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." ~ Psalm 73:26b

We trust in our Jesus...always!

Such an incredible man and he had a love like no other for his grand babies. We love you all and continue to pray!
