A Wonderful Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my Mommy. We had a fun day celebrating her! My Daddy & I went that morning to get Mommy breakfast and pick up her flowers while she slept in and got ready for church. She LOVED that! Then, after church, lunch at one of her favorite restaraunts, & my nap, Daddy & I gave Mommy her cards and the pottery piece I painted for her (with some of Daddy's help). It was a great day, and Mommy felt very loved!

Mommy's flower arrangement!

Then, Daddy took a few pictures of Mommy, me, & my baby sibling.
I can't wait to meet my sibling. I am going to be a great big sister...only 8 weeks left!
My family!

A Morning at Ray's

Here I am at Ray's Splash Planet. Before I got to swim at the indoor water park, I learned about flowers...makes my Opa & Oma so proud! :) We got to plant some seeds and cover them up with dirt. I had a fun time! (Oh, and yes, that is my Mommy in the background...with my baby sibling!)
And, this is my friend, Ella. We usually go to Ray's at the same time, and it's a lot of fun playing with her.

One Cool Chickadee & The Last Day of "School"

I love sunglasses! They are so fun to wear around...inside and outside!
My Mommy says that I am "one cool chickadee," and that makes me laugh! But, I am pretty cute, aren't I? :)
And, here I am talking on the phone...something else I LOVE to do, whether for real or pretend. But, of course, in my world, everything is "for real" and nothing is pretend!
And, here is a picture of me on my last day of "school." I went to a Mother's Morning Out program on Thursdays each week, and I had so much fun. This fall, I start real preschool, and I get to go 2 days a week and be in the same class as my cousin, Stephanie, who I call "LaLeigh." I am so excited about that! We're going to have so much fun together!
I'll miss going and seeing my friends and my teacher, Mrs. Sally. But, it was so much fun!

Oma's Birthday & A day at the Fountain

For my Oma's birthday, we all went to Opa & Oma's house for swimming and pizza. It was so fun. I LOVED being in the swimming pool again. (Of course, it was nice and heated, so it was even better!) Happy Birthday, Oma!!
Here I am...snackin' on some chips with my Daddy!
Me with my Opa & cousin Stephanie! (Opa calls us his "buddies," and I love it!)
It sure was a beautiful day!
Oh, and this was probably my first time ever...I was looking at bugs, particularly ladybugs, so does that make it any better since I'm a girl?? :)
That night, I was looking at a magazine with my baby doll, Molly, before bedtime. I am very attached to my 2 baby dolls right now, Molly & Abby. They go with me almost everywhere, & I love them! (Excuse the messy playroom...we cleaned that up after we looked through the magazine!)
Then, today, I got to go the fountains at Birkdale. I went with some of my friends from playgroup, and it was so fun!
Look at me...I'm having a great time! The day was nice and sunny, so I didn't even care that the water was so cold!
But, filling up this bucket kept me entertained for quite some time!
Then, it was time for me to take a break, be the "princess," and let my friend, Brock, fill up my bucket for me. Being one of the only girls in our playgroup sure has its advantages!! :)
I am ready for summer!

My Great Oma

This is my Daddy & Mommy with my Great Oma (great grandmother) in Holland in February 2007. This past Sunday, my Great Oma peacefully went to be with Jesus. She lived 97 wonderful years here on this Earth, and now she is in Heaven.

And, here are 3 generations...my Great Oma, my Oma, & my Mommy.
We'll miss Great Oma, but we know she is in Heaven with Jesus. And, as my cousin Brayden said, "Now Great Oma gets to meet Chloe." (Chloe was my cousin, Brayden's sister, who passed away in May 2006.)

Princess Averie, Sidewalk Chalk, and Mommy's Belly

Look at me...I'm a princess. And, I have some pretty cool "bling bling" earrings to go with my pretty tiara. And, since I am a princess, I love to tell people what to do. Daddy & Mommy call it being "bossy," (which they say I shouldn't be...), but I like to think I'm just being a princess.

And, here I am on my noble steed, Rocket.

Then, I got to put on my overalls and put my hair in "piggies" and head outside for some fun time with sidewalk chalk. I am really excited...can't you tell?

Sidewalk chalk is so fun!

Not so sure about the residue it leaves on my fingers. Even if I am in my overalls, we princess' don't like to have messy fingers! :)

And, here is my Mommy showing of the baby...she is 24 weeks in the picture (though now, she is 28 weeks pregnant)! Since some of you asked, I put a picture of my baby sibling on my blog. Looks like I am going to have to share this blog with the baby too! I don't mind...I am REALLY excited about the baby arriving!

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter Everyone!

Today, on Easter Sunday, I got to wear my pretty Easter dress that my Oma (grandmother) bought me. We went to church, had lunch with Poppy, Nana, Uncle Blair, & Aunt Brittany, and then we had dinner with Opa, Oma, & most of my uncles, aunts, and cousins on my Mommy's side. It was a great day!

And, of course, my Mommy had to take me outside for some pictures in my dress.

And, I learned to say, "He is Risen."

I was pretty excited about this being one of the last pictures :) That's my really big smile!! :)

Fun Days at Home

While my Mommy dries her hair in the morning, I usually just play. But, lately, I have taken a liking to being beside her, looking in the mirror and brushing my own hair. I also put hair "plips" (clips) in my hair also. Mommy thinks it's adorable...plus, it keeps my busy! :)
And, of course, while she is taking my picture, I decided to have a new smile...one eye open and the other closed...whatcha' think? :) Aren't I just so cute?
Check this out...Daddy & Mommy got me a playground for my backyard. I LOVE IT! I swing on it all the time. In fact, every morning and after every nap, I wake up and ask my Mommy, "Is my playground still here?" She's not sure why I always ask, but I am always VERY excited when she says, "Yes, it's still here." It's so much fun! Come over and play anytime!
And, of course, I just learned what a "pouty" lip was...I only use it when I am being silly with Daddy & Mommy. Isn't it too cute? It's a shame that it doesn't work to get things :)
Me & my Mommy!!
And, me, my Mommy, and Miss Joy (she spent this past Saturday with us, and we had fun!)

Another Egg Hunt

Egg hunts have become one of my favorite things right now. So, when my Uncle Abe & Aunt Cindi had an egg hunt at their home about a week ago, I was so excited. I took my basket and excitedly ran around picking up eggs. Most of the time, I would try to look inside, but then Mommy would encourage me to pick up all the eggs first, then we could look inside them. It was a fun day!

Picking up the eggs!
What yummy treat is in here for me?
I think I could be a professional egg hunter! :)
Happy Me after the egg hunt!

My "Big Girl" Bed

Well, my Daddy & Mommy have told me that I would have to start sleeping in my "big girl" bed in my "big girl" room soon so that I can share my crib with the baby. I wasn't sure what to think at first. You see, this bed has been in my "big girl" room for a few months now...all made up and ready for me. But, the only thing I have done is jump on it. So, this past weekend, my Daddy put the rails on my bed, and my Mommy told me that it was time to try and take a nap in it today. They weren't sure what was going to happen in that bed today with sweet 2 year old me, but I did great! I read for a few minutes (Goodnight Moon is such a great book!), and then I drifted off to sleep...
So, the first few pictures are of me getting in my bed for the first time with the sheets back (& not jumping on it!!)...and the last few pictures are how Mommy found me just a few minutes later. I think that she hopes that it'll always be this easy for me to go to bed, but I doubt that. I am only 2!!! :) :) (Oh, by the way, do you like my "big girl" room and my "big girl" bed? I love it!)

Look at me...all ready for bed!

Sleeping so peacefully!
